Ed Frazier: Love For The Game

This month’s employee spotlight is focusing on Ed Frazier. Ed has been an NTBOA official for over a decade and has an incredible passion for the game of basketball. Keep reading to learn more about his background and involvement with NTBOA over the years.

Ed was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where he went to Sunset High School located in Oak Cliff. After high school, Ed attended Baylor University where he received a full scholarship to play basketball. Post-graduation, Ed worked his way up to a CxO-level executive and after 25+ years, went into consulting. The transition from IT to consulting allowed time for Ed to begin officiating basketball in 2005.

After Ed retired from his marketplace responsibilities, he served as the executive pastor of an independent church, Austin Christian Fellowship in Austin Texas, for 10+ years, retiring again in 2019. On September 2, 2022, Ed will be married to his high school sweetheart for 55 years. They have two adult daughters and son-in-laws, as well as six grandchildren.

“I truly love refereeing and giving back to a sport that has served me so well. The mental and physical challenge, interrelating with the referees, coaches, and players, and being around the kids are what I enjoy the most. I don’t know how many more years I have left on the court, but the camaraderie with my fellow officials is what keeps me in the game. One thing I’m certain of is no matter how long, I’ll enjoy every minute of it!”
