REGISTERING AS A MEMBER OF THE NTBOA
To work as a basketball official, you must join a regional association. This allows us to schedule you for games and access to our community of officials!

REGISTERING AS A MEMBER OF THE THSBOA
To be eligible to officiate basketball for UIL member schools, an individual must register with an association, with the UIL, and with a local chapter. The purpose of the THSBOA is to aid in the education and development of officials through local THSBOA chapters

GET
EVALUATED
Get evaluated in order to start working based on your evaluation. Every official will be given a tier placement, which will determine the level of play and/or the officiating level (Referee, U1, U2) they are qualified to officiate.
Registration is currently closed for NTBOA and THSBOA for the upcoming season.
However, please provide us with your information using the link below and we will contact you in April when registration opens.

NTBOA RETURNING MEMBERS DUES
Before July 1st: $99.00
July 1st – July 31st: $129.00
After August 1st: $179.00
IMPORTANT NOTE: THSBOA dues are $90 but they offer an early bird discount of $60 before July 1st.
NTBOA & THSBOA NEW MEMBERS DUES
Total Cost: $159.00
NTBOA is $99.00 and THSBOA is $60.00.
The fees referenced above do not include uniform costs.
PAYMENT INFORMATION
The amount you get paid varies depending on if you call varsity, sub-varsity, or middle school games. Mileage varies as well due to the metro and non-metro rates.

The average cost of uniforms is $175.00.
Uniforms can also be purchased at some of the NTBOA General Meetings
NTBOA VARSITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Chapter offers arbiter training to help you be a better official! This training will help you become a better official while also helping you connect with your fellow officials to work seamlessly together during games. We believe that no one at NTBOA is above education, and that is what makes us one of the leading chapters in Texas.
