FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
Officiating offers the unique opportunity to create your own schedule. You decide the days and times you would like to to dedicate to officiating, and our assigners find games that fit within your schedule. This flexibility enables you to decide your own hours and how involved you would like to be.
EXTRA INCOME
Officiating can be a part-time “side hustle”. This offers extra income in your pocket, paid to you by the school district you are officiating for. Being a basketball referee pays you to have fun and watch basketball from the best seat in the house!
INVOLVEMENT IN YOUR COMMUNITY
We see officiating as an opportunity to give back to our community. We rely on local community members to provide an even playing field and legitimacy for any middle school or high school basketball games. Providing this stage for young athletes to perform is an excellent way to support the area you live in.

Register with the North Texas Basketball Officials Association
The NTBOA officiates high school and middle school basketball games across North Texas. As a top chapter in the state of Texas, we pride ourselves on our thorough education, training, and passion for the games of basketball.
Registering with the NTBOA gives you access to the opportunities that come with working as an official in the North Texas region.
Register with the THSBOA
Why register with the THSBOA? The Texas High School Basketball Officials Association is the overarching governing body for all high school basketball officials in the state of Texas.
The goal of the THSBOA is to aid in the education and development of officials through the local chapters, problem solve among officials, and improve communication between governing bodies.
In order to be eligible to officiate, you must register with NTBOA and the THSBOA and submit to a criminal background check by the THSBOA.
Once you have registered with the NTBOA and THSBOA, you will receive an email with a login for the members section of NTBOA. Here you will find all the information you need on meetings and education, scheduling, finding uniforms, and more!
